“It’s like a family fairy tale.”
That’s how this mother described her session after seeing her images. My heart nearly burst. I felt the same about this family. They are living rainbows full of joy and color and magic and I want to gobble them all up. For her to feel about her images how I felt about creating them makes me feel so gooooood. I felt understood and, let’s be real here, we artists often have a thing about feeling understood, amirite?!
We spent a quiet, slow morning playing with brand new puppies that seemed to have fallen from some parallel universe where puppies are made of yarn and muppet magic. We explored, laughed, and fully enjoyed the ease of the morning. The boys met me with warmth and showed me their mystical crystal pyramids, their book collections, the cool crayon sharpener on the back of the crayon box, and the secret place their cat, Coco, likes to hide. I sipped coffee with mom and dad. We snuck away for some portraits while the boys ate breakfast quesadillas. It was dad’s birthday which made me feel even more grateful and honored to be welcomed into their home when they had so much celebrating to do that day.
Without further ado, here is my first blog post in a hundred years…featuring a family that is one in a million and has my heart always for their graciousness.
